16 people, 12 bikes, 2 tag-a-longs, 1 double trailer, 15 headlamps, 14 helmets and a picnic lunch is what it takes to do the Hiawatha Trail. Load em up, head em out;)And then you do ALL this... and hope that with all the borrowing and loading that everyone ends up with a bike that fits them and a bike seat to go with it. It didn't work so well for us. We ended up with a bike too big for a niece so she rode Campbell's which was too small. Campbell rode on our tag-a-long which was meant for Bea if she got tired of the trailer. Campbell's seat fell off on the freeway so we luckily had the extra big bike that we swapped seats for. It all worked out. Three cheers for Sarah for riding the clown bike that was too small.PaBo was such a trooper. For one he hasn't been on a bike since we made him ride in Martha's Vineyard exactly 7 years ago, two it's really hard to see in those dark tunnels. Once he survived the first tunnel which is 2 miles long he kept riding and never stopped until the end except for lunch. He was always in the lead, I think he just really wanted to be done. He did it, 15 miles!
We finished just before the rain really hit. You can see the dark skies in these pictures Hiawatha is so FUN!
